La Leche League of Ventura County
La Leche League of Ventura offers group meetings across Ventura County. Meetings are in a discussion format (it's not a lecture or a class) and breast/chest feeding parents are encouraged to use their own experience to help and support each other. We feel that everyone raising a baby has something to offer. You'll get to hear what others are experiencing, how they've solved past problems, what helped, and what didn't. We also encourage attendance during pregnancy to get questions answered and have an idea of what a nursing relationship looks like. A unique aspect of La Leche League is that our meetings are on-going -- as opposed to a one-time class -- so they are a great way to meet other families and find support. Information helps, but support is proven to be one of the biggest factors for success. Meetings are facilitated by La Leche League Leaders, experienced parents who have fed their own babies human milk, by many different means, and who have been trained and accredited by La Leche League International to help each babies and their parents with all aspects of chest/breast feeding.
